Charity Auction: Help The Animals

Our attendees at Furnal Equinox have made a great name for themselves by supporting the Mississauga Humane Society for the last five years. Since 2010, you've raised over $18,000 for this very worthy charity — all of the MHS's work is done by volunteers, who provide foster care for animals until they can be placed in a "Forever Home."

We are inviting all of our attendees to attend Furnal Equinox's Charity Auction, and to please be generous in bidding on the available items. However, there are other ways that you can support the charity, too!

If you have an interesting item or service that you'd like to donate (such as an art print or commission, or other unique item), please consider donating the item to the Charity Auction.

To donate, you can e-mail Shane (charity auction coordinator) at shane@furnalequinox.com. You can also drop by the auction / art show room at the convention in Golden Delicious (near the entrance to the Dealers Den) on Friday.

Remember the Animals in our Charity Auction

We are pleased to have a wonderful relationship with the Mississauga Humane Society. As attendees, you have raised over $18,000 for the MHS over the last four years, and we are very eager to add to that total this year!

For those that aren't aware, a few words on our charity: for fifteen years, the Mississauga Humane Society's goal and mandate has been to find "Forever Homes" for cats and dogs regardless of their background, age, health or previous behavioural issues. Unlike many other humane societies, they have no dedicated office or overhead. All animals are cared for by volunteer foster owners, and all of their donations go towards food, veterinary bills and other expenses.

We'll be running the Charity Auction throughout the convention in support of the MHS, culminating in the voice auction on Sunday afternoon. So please consider donating an item! We particularly like artwork and costume pieces and commissions, but any other special items are welcome too. You can e-mail us at charity@furnalequinox.com with details, and drop them off in the art show room on Friday.

If you have any other fundraising ideas that you'd like to run at the convention, please let us know at the same address! Just about anything is welcome as long as you run it by us first.

And for everyone else, please consider saving a few dollars for our charity auction on Sunday afternoon and bidding on an item or two. Would you say no to those cute faces?

More information about the MHS is available on their website at www.mississaugahumanesociety.com.

Items For The Charity Auction

Do you have any interesting furry-related items or services to offer? A rare piece of art or writing? Perhaps an artist who has an extra commission slot available? If you have any of these, please give some thought to donating your items or skills to Furnal Equinox's Charity Auction.

We've supported the Mississauga Humane Society for the last four years and raised over $12,000 for this very worthy charity. The funds that we raise don't go to overhead, salaries, or keeping animals in cages. All of the MHS's work is done out of the homes of their numerous volunteers, who provide foster care for animals until they can find "Forever Homes" for them.

Your generosity makes a big difference to the MHS every year — and we know that you can do the same again!

To donate an item to this year's Charity Auction, e-mail Shane (charity auction coordinator) at woof@eol.ca, or drop by the auction / art show room at the convention on Friday to enter your item.

Support our Charity

We're pleased to announce that FE is once again supporting the Mississauga Humane Society (MHS) as its official charity in 2013.

Founded in 1999, the Mississauga Humane Society strives to find "Forever Homes" for cats and dogs regardless of their background, age, health or previous behavioural issues. They have no dedicated office or overhead: all animals are cared for by foster owners, and all of their donations go towards food, veterinary bills and other expenses.

FE was featured in the Humane Society's April 2012 Pet Chat newsletter (see page 9) -- they came to the con for a day last year and were blown away by your generosity!

Over the first three years of FE, we have raised over $12,000 for the MHS, including $8,000 last year alone! Can the troops beat it this year? We sure hope so!

We'll be running the Charity Auction throughout the convention, culminating in the voice auction on Sunday afternoon. So we'd appreciate donations items to auction! We're especially looking for artwork and costume commissions, but any other special items are welcome too. You can e-mail us at charity@furnalequinox.com.

More information about the MHS and how to support them are available on their website at www.mississaugahumanesociety.com.
